Leather Solvent Cleaner
Leather Solvent Cleaner
High-strength solvent cleaner for professional preparation of leather, vinyl and PU. Removes stubborn contamination (oils, silicones, waxes, polishes), softens residual failing coatings and creates a uniformly keyed surface for reliable adhesion of repair and colour systems.
What It Does
Leather Solvent Cleaner quickly breaks down persistent films and embedded residues that water-based products cannot remove. Used with lint-free cloths or fine fibre pads, it evens gloss, feathers edges of unstable coating and prepares the substrate for Binder, Fillers, Primer, Colourant and Top Coat.
Recommended when Liquid Degreaser or Alcohol Cleaner are insufficient — for glossy build-up, silicone contamination and areas with micro-lifting of the top coat.
Professional Applications
- Automotive: steering wheels, bolsters and panels prior to recolouring.
- Furniture: armrests and high-touch zones with stubborn residues or failing finish.
- Leather goods: straps, edges and heavy-use areas before restoration.
Compatible Leather Types
Finished/pigmented leather and many coated PU/artificial leather surfaces. On aniline/semi-aniline use with extreme care. Not suitable for suede or nubuck. Always test on a hidden area.

Tips & Related Products
- Start with Leather Liquid Degreaser for general oils; use Solvent Cleaner where residues persist.
- For coating removal/keying, follow with Leather Prep to unify surface if required.
- Proceed with Leather Binder (if fibres are weak), then Light/Heavy Filler, Primer, Colourant, Top Coat.
Test first: aggressive action may affect sensitive or freshly coated areas.
