LeTech Leather Heavy Filler
LeTech Leather Heavy Filler
LeTech Leather Heavy Filler is a thick, water-based repair compound for through holes, deep cuts, gouges and split edges. The creamy, homogeneous formula spreads cleanly, bonds securely to leather fibres and cures to a flexible, wear-resistant layer ready for texturing and recolouring.
What It Does
Leather Heavy Filler fills and rebuilds deeper defects where light fillers are not enough. It wets and ties the fibre structure, allowing you to reconstruct missing volume and edges without excessive shrinkage. Once cured, the repair remains elastic so it bends with the leather instead of cracking.
For through-holes and tears: reinforce from the back with a backing patch, then build Heavy Filler in controlled layers, drying each pass before adding the next.
Professional Applications
- Automotive: torn bolsters, deep gouges, split seams (after structural stabilisation).
- Furniture: ripped corners and edges; chipped or missing grain areas.
- Leather goods: heavy scuffs, cuts and losses on bags, shoes and accessories.
Compatible Leather Types
For smooth finished/pigmented leather and many coated PU/artificial leather surfaces. Always test on a hidden area for absorption and finish compatibility.
Not suitable for suede or nubuck.

Tips & Related Products
- Degrease and remove unstable finish before filling to maximise adhesion.
- Build volume in several thin passes rather than one heavy coat to reduce sink-back.
- For holes/tears, insert a backing patch and heat-set each layer before the next.
- Finish with Leather Light Filler for final levelling; replicate grain with Leather Grain Copier.
