Professional Anti-Wear Slip Additive for Leather Top Coat Finishing

LeTech Slip Additive is a professional-grade anti-wear modifier formulated to be blended directly into leather top coat finishes, significantly increasing surface durability, abrasion resistance, and tactile quality. Developed to British restoration standards and trusted by professional leather technicians, detailers, and restoration specialists across automotive, furniture, marine, and luxury goods sectors.

What This Product Does

When incorporated into a leather top coat or protective finish, Slip Additive forms a reinforced surface layer that resists mechanical wear, surface scratching, scuffing, and abrasion. It simultaneously improves the tactile feel of the finished surface — delivering a refined, professional result without compromising the leather's natural breathability, flexibility, or moisture exchange properties.

Unlike standard top coat finishes applied alone, a Slip Additive-modified coating provides measurably superior resistance to daily operational stress — critical for high-contact surfaces such as automotive seats, steering wheels, furniture cushions, and leather accessories subjected to consistent use.

Professional Applications

• Automotive Interiors: Seats, door panels, steering wheels, headrests, and dashboards requiring durable, wear-resistant protective finishes after leather repair or full redye.
• Furniture Restoration: Sofas, chairs, and upholstered leather pieces in residential and commercial environments where surface longevity and appearance retention are essential.
• Marine Interiors: Helm seats, cabin upholstery, and cockpit leather exposed to demanding environmental and mechanical stress.
• Private Aviation: Aircraft cabin seating and leather surfaces requiring premium-grade protection with strict performance consistency.
• Luxury Leather Goods: Handbags, belts, small leather goods, and footwear requiring scratch and scuff resistance with maintained tactile quality.

Not suitable for suede or nubuck surfaces.

LeTech Thickening Agent – Professional Polyurethane Viscosity Modifier

The LeTech Thickening Agent (Expert Line) is a high-performance functional additive engineered from synthetic polyurethanes. Developed with professional British restoration heritage, this solution is designed to precisely adjust the viscosity and rheological properties of aqueous polyurethane dispersions. It is an essential component for restoration specialists and automotive detailers requiring granular control over the consistency of leather dyes, protective top coats, and repair compounds.

Advanced Viscosity Control for Professional Restoration

This technical additive allows professionals to modify the flow characteristics of leather coatings without compromising the integrity of the original formula. Whether increasing the body of a top coat for vertical applications or creating high-build finishes for patent leather, the Thickening Agent ensures a stable, predictable result. The formula is specifically optimized to prevent sagging and minimize splatter during spray or sponge applications.

Professional Applications

Automotive Interiors

Ideal for refining the consistency of dyes used on bolstered seats, steering wheels, and door panels where precision and run-prevention are critical.

Furniture Restoration

Provides the necessary body for applying top coats to vertical surfaces of luxury sofas and chairs, ensuring an even, drip-free finish.

Marine Interiors

Engineered to withstand the rigorous demands of marine upholstery restoration, allowing for thick, protective barriers on heavy-use surfaces.

Luxury Leather Goods

Essential for achieving the "super-gloss" aesthetic required for patent leather footwear and high-end handbags when mixed with gloss top coats.

Why Professionals Choose LeTech

LeTech represents the pinnacle of British restoration standards. Unlike retail-grade additives, the Expert Line Thickening Agent maintains total transparency and does not alter the color accuracy of the base product. It preserves the drying time and intercoat adhesion of the leather finish, ensuring that the structural integrity of the repair remains uncompromised. This professional reliability reduces material waste and labor time, providing significant cost savings compared to component replacement.

Technical Specifications

HOW TO USE

1. Preparation: Ensure the base product (Leather Colourant, Top Coat, or Filler) is clean and ready for mixing.
2. Dosage: Introduce the Thickening Agent at a ratio of 1% to 5% of the total volume. Do not exceed 5% to avoid excessive viscosity.
3. Mixing: Stir thoroughly to ensure even distribution of the agent throughout the medium. No pre-dilution is required.
4. Testing: Always conduct a small-scale test on an inconspicuous area to verify the desired flow and finish.
5. Application: Apply the thickened mixture using a sponge, brush, or specialized spray equipment according to the base product's instructions.
6. Safety: Work in a well-ventilated area. Use professional-grade PPE as recommended for polyurethane handling.
