Professional Leather Stitch Masking Fluid for Recoloring

LeTech Leather Masking Fluid is a professional water-based stitch masking solution designed to protect thread and contrast stitching during leather recoloring and refinishing. This fast-drying formula forms a flexible protective film over seams, preventing overspray, dye penetration, and unwanted color contamination.

Contrast stitching plays a critical visual role in automotive interiors, furniture, and luxury leather goods. During recoloring, even minor overspray can permanently alter thread color and ruin the final appearance. Leather Masking Fluid creates a removable barrier that keeps stitching clean, sharp, and original.

What This Stitch Masking Fluid Does

This professional masking compound temporarily seals leather seams and threads before spraying or applying leather dye. Once dry, it forms a thin elastic coating that shields the thread without damaging texture or color. After refinishing, it can be easily removed without leaving residue.

• Prevents dye overspray on stitching
• Protects contrast thread during recoloring
• Maintains original thread color and texture
• Forms flexible removable protective film
• Supports precise professional restoration work

Professional Applications

• Automotive Interiors: Contrast seat stitching, dashboards, door panels
• Furniture Restoration: Decorative seams on sofas and cushions
• Luxury Leather Goods: Handbags, accessories, footwear
• Custom Upholstery Projects: Detailed seam protection during refinishing

Why Stitch Protection Is Critical During Recoloring

Decorative stitching enhances the visual silhouette of leather components. Especially in automotive interiors, contrast threads define design lines and premium appearance. Overspray contamination can permanently alter thread tone and compromise restoration quality. Leather Masking Fluid ensures precise, controlled recoloring results.

Technical Specifications

• Base: Water-based formula
• Drying Speed: Fast-drying
• Film Type: Thin elastic protective layer
• Removal: Peels or rolls off easily after drying
• Adhesion: High adhesion to thread without damaging fibers
• Environmental Safety: Complies with modern leather industry standards

Does not alter thread color, structure, or finish.

Professional Leather Degreaser for Oil & Grease Removal

LeTech Leather Degreaser is a professional absorbent gel designed to remove deep oil stains, body oils, grease, sweat, and contamination from leather before recoloring and restoration. Darkened steering wheels, shiny headrests, greasy jacket collars, and sticky leather surfaces are all caused by oil saturation inside the leather structure — not just on the surface. This product extracts embedded oils from within the fibers, preparing the leather for high-quality repair and refinishing.

Formulated with Vibrant Plus+ technology, this thick extraction gel penetrates the leather grain, absorbs contamination, and transforms into a powder as it dries — physically pulling grease to the surface. It acts as a visual indicator: white on clean areas, yellow to dark brown where oil has been successfully removed.

What This Leather Degreaser Does

Unlike surface cleaners, this professional leather degreaser targets oil trapped inside the leather structure. Complete oil removal is a critical step before recoloring, coating, or repair. Skipping this stage can lead to poor adhesion, peeling, or premature coating failure.

• Removes body oils (sebum) from steering wheels and armrests
• Extracts grease from furniture headrests and cushions
• Eliminates oil stains from food and air freshener spills
• Reduces ink transfer and ballpoint pen marks
• Prevents coating failure during leather recoloring

Professional Applications

• Automotive Interiors: Darkened steering wheels, gear shifters, seats, and armrests
• Furniture Restoration: Oil-saturated sofa headrests and hand-contact areas
• Leather Apparel: Greasy jacket collars and cuffs
• Luxury Leather Goods: Handbag handles, footwear, equestrian items
• Marine & Aviation Interiors: High-contact leather surfaces

Why Oil Removal Is Critical Before Recoloring

Oil contamination blocks adhesion. If grease remains inside the leather, new dye or coating will not properly bond. LeTech Leather Degreaser improves adhesion performance by ensuring the leather structure is fully decontaminated before refinishing. This significantly increases durability and longevity of restoration work.

Technical Specifications

• Technology: Vibrant Plus+ oil extraction system
• Form: Thick absorbent gel
• Drying Time: Approximately 30 minutes (depending on environment)
• Application Method: Brush application
• Indicator System: White when clean, yellow/brown when oil extracted
• Compatible Leather Types: Aniline, Semi-Aniline, Pigmented, Pull-Up, Antique Finish
• Not Recommended For: Bi-cast leather (may become tacky)

Compatible Leather Types

• Aniline leather
• Semi-aniline leather
• Pigmented leather
• Pull-up waxed leather
• Antique two-tone finishes

Suitable for use on leather of all colors and textures.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Leather Degreaser remove body oil from leather?

Yes. LeTech Leather Degreaser is specifically designed to extract body oils (sebum), sweat, and grease from deep within the leather structure. It removes contamination that regular surface cleaners cannot reach.

Is this product necessary before leather recoloring?

Absolutely. Oil trapped inside leather prevents proper adhesion of dyes and coatings. Degreasing is an essential preparation step to ensure long-lasting restoration results.

Can it remove dark shiny areas on steering wheels?

Yes. Darkened and shiny steering wheels are typically caused by oil saturation from hands. This product extracts embedded grease and prepares the surface for refinishing.

Does it remove ink stains from leather?

It can help reduce ballpoint pen marks and certain dye transfers, especially when used as part of a professional restoration process.

How many applications are required?

Severely oil-contaminated leather may require multiple applications. Repeat the process until the dried product remains white, indicating full oil extraction.

Is it safe for all types of leather?

Compatible with aniline, semi-aniline, pigmented, pull-up, and antique finished leather. Not recommended for bi-cast leather.

Why does the product change color while drying?

The color change is a visual indicator. Yellow or brown discoloration shows that oil and grease have been successfully absorbed from the leather.
